Musical Theater Schedule

Musical Theater is a style of jazz that uses Broadway or show-tune music. You generally see this particular genre in musical productions with an emphasis on jazz technique. It is a very fun and energetic style that requires the student to not only dance, but also act and sometimes sing.

GDSC’s Musical Theater program consists of the following classes:

Performance

Spring

Musical Theater (Ages 9+): Tuesday, 4:15-5:15 p.m.

Our Fall/Spring performance classes focus on musical theater skills via two choreographed pieces for our December Recital and June Recital.

Technique series required for Competition Team and Performance Company Jazz, L/C and M.T. dancers.

Our jazz technique classes address crucial aspects of the art form, which include strength, flexibility, body awareness and placement. Though principally focused on jazz-based skills, these classes may integrate lyrical, contemporary and musical theater, as all aforementioned disciplines do fall under the jazz umbrella.
